Advertising
and Promotion for the Show
Last years advertising set new attendance records for the
Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show. Over 6,800 people attended
last November. Due to the failing economy advertising rates
have dropped allowing us to try out some new venues and to
increase time, size and frequency in others.
The Advertising committee arranged for CBS Denver Outdoor
Advertising to put up 35 Billboards around the Denver metro
area. The 35 Billboards will start going up Monday 3/21.
They are 12' x 24' (below)

Approximately 4900 color postcards (below) were sent out to
the public
on February 13th.

The Denver Merchandise Mart electronic billboard on I-25 at
58th (below) went up February 10th and will run through
March 4th.

Denver Post ad in the Entertainment section March 2nd.

Approximately 80 radio commercials on stations KOSI and KEZW,
reaching approximately 750,000 listeners running from
February 27th through March 3rd.
Listen to the Commercial

Weekly deal (Denver Perks) on radio stations KOSI, KQMT,
Alice and KEZW reaching approximately 1.6 million listeners,
running from February 20th through February 27th. The deal
is a 4 pack admittance for $15.
Over 4,000 flyers (below) have been handed out around the
country by the RMD.
Additional ads were placed online on various online train
forums and in the TCA publications, reaching approximately
30,000 TCA members and 80,000 model train hobbyists.
We have tentatively arranged for CBS Channel 4 to provide
PSA’s.
Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show T shirts and Sweatshirts will
be provided to workers having contact with the public to
further build the shows identity. Additional shirts will be
available for sale at the show.
